Welcome to the wonderful world of rare tropical fruits and vegetables. With the help of friendly experts, and all of the information they have collected from worldwide sources, you will be able to start growing and picking these tropical delights right from your own trees. Learn about special growing techniques including the proper way to prune, fertilize and propagate new plants (i.e. grafting, air-layering, etc.)

Meet interesting people who all share this special purpose of procuring seeds & new plants, promoting new species & improved varieties, propagating new plants and growing rare tropical fruits & vegetables.

Members of RFVC are backyard and commercial growers, professional researchers and collectors, anyone interested in growing or eating tropical fruits and vegetables.

2018 Annual Spring Sale-

APRIL 7 & 8, 2018

It's open to the public! The sale will be held at our 208 research garden. 5105 SW 208th Lane Southwest Ranches, FL 33332

Now is your chance to buy those rare fruit trees & vegetables that you've been looking for all year! Jams, Jellies, Breads & Local Honey featuring tropical fruits will also be available. Also available will be Fruit Tree Fertilizer.

Dates are Saturday, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM & Sunday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Cash, Checks and Mastercard & Visa Accepted.

Saturday & Wednesday workdays
Murray is out at the 208 garden every Saturday & Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. We ALWAYS need lots of help out at the 208 nursery. Members now is your time to shine. We could really use your help weeding, potting-up, propagating, etc. prior to our annual sale. We need some help cleaning out and organizing our shadehouse if you would like to help come on out on either day!

If you have surplus tropical fruit or vegetable seeds, please bring them to our monthly meetings (labeled in a container or zip-loc bag) and give them to Barbara Mitchell or Letitia Suarez so we can make them available to other members.

Our educational programs are in collaboration with the Urban Horticulture Program of UF-IFAS/Broward County Extension.
